10K and half marathon
Come on foot, by bike or public transport to the start and finish of the European Running Championship at the Sportoase in Leuven. Several streets are closed due to the event. Therefore, Sportoase is not accessible by car.
As participant or supporter, please follow the directions below to get to your destination smoothly.
Be on time and prepared. The easiest option is to take the train. Then you can return home from Leuven carefree afterwards.
ON FOOT OR BY BIKE
The Sportoase in Leuven is easily accessible on foot or by bicycle. Ample bicycle parking is provided at OHL Tervuursevest. From there you can quickly reach the Sportoase on foot.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Coming by bus or train? Then Leuven Station is the place to be! Attention, because of the course, a lot of bus lines are affected. Consult the route planners of NMBS and De Lijn and plan your trip to Leuven.
From Leuven Station, the start zone at the Sportoase can be reached on foot. Keep in mind that you still have to walk to the start zone after arriving at the station, so be sure to leave on time for the event.
Bus stops near the Sportoase will not be served on Sunday, April 13. You can consult the alternative timetable via De Lijn’s route planner.
PARKING
Runners and supporters of European Running Championships can park in the parking lot at the Brabanthal. Parking costs €10 and is easily accessible from the E40 motorway. Reserving a parking ticket is mandatory and can be done via the button below:
Follow the signs when approaching the parking lot to find a spot without problems.
A free shuttle is provided from the car parks towards the start and arrival between 7 am and 4 pm. So, you can get to and from the Sportoase carefree.
KISS & RIDE
Anyone wishing to drop off or pick up people can use the Kiss & Ride at Parking 1 Leuven Station. From here you can walk to the Sportoase.
LEAVING THE EVENT
Want to get home quickly and without worry? From the arrival area, simply walk to Leuven Station, the fastest and most comfortable option to continue your journey.
Is your car parked in Parking Brabanthal or are you being picked up by supporters?
The shuttle service runs between 7:00 and 16:00 and provides a smooth connection between the arrival zone and Parking Brabanthal. The pick-up point at the arrival zone is located in the Geldenaaksebaan.
Marathon
Come on foot, by (share) bike or by public transport to the start of the European Running Championships at Warande Park in Brussels. The zone at the Place des Palais will be closed.
As a result, the start area is not accessible by car. As a participant or supporter, please follow the directions below to get to your destination smoothly.

The Warande Park in Brussels is easily accessible on foot or by bicycle. There are several public bicycle parking areas near the start zone. The link below will take you directly to the start zone.

From Brussels-Central Station, the start zone at the Warande Park can be reached on foot. Keep in mind that after arriving at the station, you still have to walk to the start zone, so be sure to leave on time for the event.

The start zone is easily accessible by bus, tram or metro. Near the start zone are the metro stations Kunst-Wet, Park and Troon. Those arriving by tram can get off at the Palais or Park stops. The start zone is also easily accessible by bus at the Troon, Palaces and Park stops. Plan your route in advance using the route planner of De Lijn, TEC or MIVB-STIB and avoid parking problems.
PARKING BRUSSELS
You can use a peripheral parking lot or a center parking lot, but keep in mind traffic congestion and possible road closures due to the course. Check in advance if your chosen parking is accessible and try to carpool as much as possible.
PARKING LEUVEN
Are you a supporter or do you want to get home quickly after your heroic marathon in Leuven? Parking at Brabanthal is the perfect base. Supporters can park their car here and take the shuttle service to the finish area.

AFTER THE EVENT
Want to get home quickly and without any worries? From the arrival area, simply walk to Leuven Station, the fastest and most comfortable option to continue your journey. Is your car parked at the parking lot in Brabanthal or are you being picked up there by supporters? The shuttle service runs between 7:00 and 18:30 and provides a smooth connection between the arrival zone and the parking lots. The pick-up point at the arrival zone is located in the Geldenaaksebaan.
Avoid the crowds and come pick up your bib number one or more days before your race!
Do you want to avoid stress and possible disappointment? Then make sure you pick up your number in advance. We strongly recommend picking up your bib number on Thursday April 10 or Friday April 11 at the Sportoase (Leuven).

ON FOOT OR BY BIKE
The Sportoase in Leuven is easily accessible on foot or by bicycle. During the two competition days, there will be a large bicycle shed at OHL on the Tervuursevest, from where you can easily walk to the Sportoase. If you pick up your bib number on Saturday, you can use this bicycle parking.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Leuven Station is easily accessible by train from all over Belgium. Use the SNCB and De Lijn route planners to plan your trip efficiently and get to Leuven carefree.
From Leuven Station, you can walk to the Sportoase in just 15 minutes.
Prefer the bus?
Please note that several bus stops are affected by the European Running Championship. Check in advance if your bus is running as planned, so you won’t have any surprises.

PARKING
Parking Sportoase is not accessible during the event. We recommend traveling by train and walking from Leuven Station to the Sportoase (about 15 minutes walk).
These days it is best to park at a Park & Ride or opt for carpooling. Another option is to park at Leuven Station and walk to the site. Consult the accessibility info for participants and supporters on race days to easily find a suitable parking space. Plan your travel in advance and avoid unnecessary stress on the day itself.
